Description:

Great Southern Bank is seeking a new Senior Network Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. As part of the Banking & Engineering team, you will work with our key technology systems, partners and vendors that provide Infrastructure, Cloud, Networking and Core Banking services. The role is responsible for managing, maintaining, technical design, evaluation, installation & configuration of key technologies at Great Southern Bank. This position is based in our Brisbane CBD office with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years’ experience as a Network/Communications Engineer in a medium to large organisation
  • Knowledge and experience with Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Meraki (routing, switching, SDWAN), Cisco ACI, Cisco ISE, Palo Alto Next Generation firewalls, Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), SolarWinds HCO, Megaport Cloud Routers, AWS and Azure connectivity and security.
  • Knowledge or experience with Web Application Firewalls and DDoS protection.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong customer service orientation, excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills and good time management skills (ability to be on-call after hours as required)

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and operate high performance network connectivity to the Cloud and SaaS service providers.
  • Lead technical design discussions that facilitate decision making within the networking and communications operations.
  • Ensure compliance to agreed ITIL principles of change, incident and problem management that drive reduced down time and improved customer experience.
  • Document, share knowledge and mentor network engineers, IT Helpdesk and IT partners to more effectively support their environment.
  • Ensure the production environment is documented and is in alignment with industry best practice as well as appropriate regulatory controls
