Senior Network Engineer – Leamington, ON

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Provide technical expertise on all aspects of network services; such as Wi-Fi, VPN, internet connectivity, and VLAN segmentation, ensuring they are fault tolerant and highly available
• Actively propose network enhancements and new technologies to meet technical directives such as redundancy and high availability
• Lead efforts in defining, tuning, and implementing network standards
• Apply best practices in Incident, Problem, Change, Patch/Release and Asset Management in the scope of Network Administration
• Strong commitment to network security and best practices
• Respond to networking issues in a coordinated effort with the IT Operations teams to quickly restore services and perform root cause analysis as required
• Participate in daily network operations activities by responding to MACD request and issues as they arise
• Create reliable documentation and update existing diagrams to accurately keep track of site topologies
• Advise, propose, and deploy geo-redundant network architecture
• Ensure recoverability of network services by implementing backup and archive operations
• Maintain comprehensive network hardware and software configuration database and all supporting documentation for relevant systems
• Engage directly with external vendors to participate in network equipment procurement, implementation services, and cost effectiveness of competing solution

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Tier 2 or 3 network administration
• Strong cloud networking experience (Azure networking background highly desired)
• Strong working experience with Cisco Meraki products.
• Strong knowledge of security infrastructure design
• Strong knowledge of SDWAN, Anyconnect, NGFW solutions
• Strong knowledge and experience with multiple firewall and switching platforms such as HP, Cisco, Sonicwall, Watchguard, Fortinet, Etc.
• Comfort with spanning-tree and best practices of network topology
• Dedication to accurate supporting documentation and diagrams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with the guidance of IT Leadership and deliver meaningful feedback for improving the performance of network operations
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build and earn trust of co-workers and clients quickly
• Relevant industry Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, SSCP, CASP+, etc.
