- Develop your clinical and leadership capabilities in a permanent, full-time role as a Senior Physiotherapist
TE WHIWHINGA MAHI | THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an experienced New Zealand registered Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy team within Neurosurgery. This is a Senior, permanent, full-time role based at Auckland Hospital and offers the opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership capabilities and work within a great team including Occupational Therapist, Speech-Language Therapist and the wider Interdisciplinary team.
- Managing a clinical caseload providing comprehensive and evidence-based care to neurosurgical patients within the high dependency unit and acute ward
- Working collaboratively in an IDT
- Driving quality improvement within the neurosurgical area
- Providing clinical and operational leadership to junior staff
- Being prepared to take on delegated responsibilities from the practice supervisor as required
- You will also be required to participate in our weekend and on-call roster
This role sits within the acute surgical team and encompasses the management of patients with a wide range of presentations including but not limited to, trauma, traumatic brain injuries, subarachnoid haemorrhages, tumour resections and spinal surgeries.
NGA PŪKENGA MOTUHAKE | IMPORTANT SKILLS
As the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:
- New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- 5+ years postgraduate experience with 2-3 years of experience in this or a similar clinical area
- Proven experience in student supervision / teaching and training
- Excellent clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary bicultural environment
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
- A flexible, pro-active approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
