Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Nuclear Response Planner to provide dedicated advisory and assistance services (A&AS) support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Nuclear Enterprise Directorate, Nuclear Surety Department. The qualified candidate will organize, coordinate, execute, and provide support to Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) nuclear weapon accident incident (NWAI) response planning, training, education, and exercises. This position is in Kleber Kaserne, Kaiserslautern, Germany.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Ø Bachelors degree and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience / Masters degree and thirteen (13) years or more of related experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Broad understanding of U.S. and NATO nuclear plans and policies.
Ø Experience working at an OCONUS nuclear capable force or headquarters.
Ø Subject Matter Expert (SME) in OCONUS NWAI response procedures, plans, and policies.
Ø Experience operating in international environments and working with NATO partner organizations.
Ø Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating to senior leadership through briefings, written/verbal correspondence, and other means as necessary.
Ø Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Prior experience working with DTRA programs, specifically within the nuclear enterprise.
Ø Experience working with Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear weapons laboratories.
Ø Ability to problem-solve in a time constrained environment.
Ø Experience producing meeting minutes.

Responsibilities:
Ø Organize, coordinate, and support bilateral Nuclear Weapon Accident Incident (NWAI) response working groups and standing operations groups.
Ø Synchronize European NWAI lines of effort with partner nations.
Ø Analyze international agreements, plans, and other documents at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels of command.
Ø Assist in the development, maintenance, and presentation of NWAI response courses.
Ø Support the development and facilitation of senior leader table top exercises (TTXs).
Ø Review, validate, assess, and assist in the development of national and DoD NWAI response policy and procedures.
Ø Travel as required.
Ø Other duties as assigned.
