Senior Nurse - Sexual Health Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Nurse to join our Northamptonshire Integrated Sexual Health and HIV team based in Northampton Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and open-minded nurse to provide a high standard of non-judgemental care to patients accessing the sexual health service. The post holder must have experience working in a GUM setting at Band 6 or Band 7 level. Contraception experience is desirable but not essential for this role.
The Senior nurse will work as part of a multi-disciplinary Senior Leadership team of Consultants, Service manager, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, and Senior Hub Administrator to help drive and shape the service as it evolves to meet the demands of the commissioners and local community.
The post holder be responsible for the clinical support and management supervision of our nursing and healthcare assistant team, ensuring that they are meeting mandatory training requirements by conducting regular 1:1’s and annual appraisals.
Northamptonshire Integrated Sexual Health and HIV Services (NISHH) is a busy Level 3 service that has two main hubs - Northampton and Kettering, as well as additional spoke clinics in Rushden, Corby and Wellingborough. We provide GUM, Contraception and HIV care for the local and wider community. The post holder will be based at Northampton General Hospital but on occasion may be expected to travel to other sites, therefore must be flexible and have the ability to travel across county.
A s the lead Senior Nurse within the Northamptonshire Integrated Sexual health and HIV Service (NISHH) you will co co-ordinate and manage the nursing team within the Sexual Health Services at Northampton General Hospital, fully integrating it with the medical and administrative staff to ensure the delivery of a high-quality clinical service to patients. The post holder will lead on the delivery of nurse-delivered clinics and link with the other two senior nurses in NISHH (based in the Kettering Hub) to ensure a county-wide seamless service for patients with sexual health needs.
You will be fully supportive of both trust and NISHH management strategies and work with these directives to ensure models of service delivery, ways of working and productivity/efficiencies are fully understood and supported by the nursing workforce. You will play a fundamental role in developing these strategies by representing the nursing staff at designated meetings.
