Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Enfield’s Mental Health Inpatient Services. We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to be part of a new clinical team in Cumbria Villa. Cumbria Villa is a new Inpatient Ward on the Chase Farm Hospital Site, aiming to open on 1st October 2024.
Cumbria Villa will be a mixed sex, 15-bed, inpatient general adult ward to support service users that currently have low intensity needs on a step-down pathway, from acute admissions towards discharge.
The Band 6 OT in Cumbria Villa will work in partnership with other disciplines to provide an integrated therapies service to the inpatients Cumbria Villa. The OT will work collaboratively with the wards’ Multi-Disciplinary Teams and be able to work independently providing OT assessments, addressing occupational performance, enabling the client in areas of self-care, productivity and leisure, and will:
Be motivated, energetic and a flexible team player with excellent communication skills.
Be able to use initiative and have some responsibilities towards the management of the inpatient treatment programme.
Be familiar with the MOHO and other evidence- based assessment tools in order to establish a baseline functional assessment from which recommendations can determine further on-going care and treatment to enable optimum functioning.
- To be part of the Inpatient Therapy Team who provide occupational therapy provision to the inpatient wards based on the MOHO model.
- To be an active member of the multi-disciplinary teams on the wards and, with supervision, be involved in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. The post will involve delivery of the OT provision to a designated caseload, focusing on recovery and developing skills for life.
- This will include planning and running a range of therapeutic groups and individual sessions, carrying out functional assessments and contributing to multidisciplinary team care planning, formulation and risk assessment.
- You will work closely with the MDT to provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention as part of the acute clinical pathway. The team includes: Physiotherapy, Art Therapy, Technical Instructor, Peer Activity Co-ordinator.
The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.
In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
