As a Senior OEM Integration Engineer, you will work to develop vehicle integration solutions for Thermo King’s Truck and Trailer Refrigeration Unit businesses in the Americas Region. The position will work directly with our customers, vehicle OEM, and refrigerated body manufacturing partners to ensure that the highest quality and most reliable temperature control solutions are provided. The Senior OEM Integration Engineer will work cross-functionally to develop system integration strategy, interface requirements definition, partner with implementation teams, and lead verification activities. This individual will be responsible for leading multiple concurrent projects including the delivery of major global New Product Development programs that meet specific performance and Quality/Cost/Delivery goals.
This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite a week) and will be based out of our Minneapolis, MN location.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience required, systems engineering experience would be an advantage.
- Strong systems thinking focus with a demonstrated ability to develop relationships and interface with vehicle OEMs, refrigerated body manufactures and customers on technical matters.
- Experience with the North American Class 1-7 commercial vehicle market, including knowledge of vehicle environmental and functional safety requirements. Experience with electric machines, power electronics, electrical controls, and automotive networks (CAN, FlexRay, automotive ethernet, etc.) would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262, FuSa Process, LV123, R-100 standard, to support Thermo King as the industry leader in the successful application of electric transport refrigeration preferred.
- Self-motivated with strong collaboration & project planning / management skills and ability to work with cross functional teams across multiple geographical regions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business.
Base Pay Range: $100,000 – 135,000

Responsibilities:
- Lead integration efforts by developing integration strategy and managing interoperability between Thermo King refrigeration unit and vehicle Application Programing Interfaces (API’s) of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) / Customers / refrigerated body manufacturers.
- Work with external Vehicle OEM’s partners and internal Product Management, Commercial, and Engineering teams to develop proposals, technical plan based on system interface definition and technical requirements.
- Conduct system integration and application reviews with OEM’s, Controls, Platform & components engineering teams. Perform system integration of refrigeration unit interfaces to external systems.
- Provide technical support to and influence vehicle OEMs, refrigerated body manufactures, TK dealers, TK Service Team, and third-party installers to ensure the refrigeration system is properly applied, installed & serviced.
- Analyze test data, publish formal test reports, and communicate recommendations, results, to the appropriate internal and external teams in formal engineering design review and project gate review or appropriate governance documentation.
- Develop practical, scalable, and sustainable standard work processes to insure successful application and integration of electric transport refrigeration units.
- Provides inputs and recommendations on future TK electrified product strategies and integration, considering electronics/electrical (E/E) architectures and technologies.
- Ensure that DFMEA and DVPR processes are adhered to. Ensure laboratory and field-testing activities adhere to our product development processes.
- Protect confidential and intellectual property (prepare patent disclosures for example).
- Domestic and international travel up to 10-15% may be required.
