Description:

Strathcona Resources Ltd. Essential Functions:

  • Support Field Operations, Production Operations, and Capital Operations & Development teams, by supplying routine and ad hoc information and analysis.
  • Preparation, review and analysis of monthly operating and capital cost accruals.
  • Responsible for review, analysis and variance explanations of operating and capital cost line items, including month over month, prior period and month/YTD to budget and forecast.
  • As part of the accrual process, organize and lead monthly stewardship presentations with the asset teams and senior management focusing on current month and YTD review of volumes, operating and capital costs, including the full operating netback overview.
  • Assist with monthly forecast and annual budget processes by providing relevant and timely information to key stakeholders.
  • Identification of, and assistance with, process improvements, coding reviews & corrections and assistance with various audits.

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • A professional accounting designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of Oil and Gas industry accounting experience.
  • Experience with Qbyte FM & OPTIX, Data Cubes and Tableau or similar.
  • Attention to detail, deadline-oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong work ethic, desire for continuous improvement and ability to learn quickly.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, INDEX/MATCH, etc), and working with large data.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
