Senior Operations Engineer [Applications & Data]

You will come from a strong operations focused background within a large ITIL based environment – Incident, Problem and Change. You will have a background in Application Support within a large & regulated environment, preferably Financial Services where you have supported the day-day management and operations across both on-premises and cloud-based environments – [GCP/AWS] within Data & Integration services.

BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE:

• Technical background in production support while maintaining high levels of system availability, system monitoring and alerts.
• Knowledge of testing and implementation of software and data pipeline releases.
• Strong background in application support.
• Ability to analyse, debug, test, document & install solutions.
• Extensive background in Incident/Problem/Change Management.
• Ability to query databases, write scripts to automate things.
• Experience in managing and supporting data platforms, data integration and reporting across both cloud and on-premises.
• Experienced with GIT/Stash version control, IAAS [Terraform] or similar CI/CD experience.

• Independently handle complex tasks and mentor others in analysing, debugging, testing, documenting, and implementing solutions.
• Strong business engagement experience in relation to operational based activities.
• Take ownership of day-to-day support, incident management, problem identification, prioritization, and issue resolution across Production and non-Production environments.
• Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance and automation enhancement.
• Understand non-functional acceptance testing, develop test scripts, and execute test cases while maintaining operational documentation.
• Expand skills across the Software Development Life Cycle, running, testing, and supporting data governance and information management.
