DESCRIPTION:

In this pivotal role, with a renowned enviromental consultancy group, you will spearhead efforts to drive operational efficiency and excellence throughout the organisation, ensuring alignment with its core values and strategic objectives. You will be a key support to the COO, analysing, managing and overseeing all of the ‘day-to-day’ company operations

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in operations management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within sectors such as environment, engineering, or health and safety or not-for-profit sector would be advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive informed decision-making.
  • Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including a track record of leading high-performing teams and driving tangible results.
  • Previous experience in a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) environment is desirable.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyse workflows and company operations to develop and execute strategic plans to streamline operations, optimise resource utilisation, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and lead the implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing workflow efficiency, quality, and timeliness.
  • Overall management and oversight of both company operations and operational departments such as Tendering and Resourcing, HR, Office management while also looking after outsourced services, contracts and renewals. In the future this may also extend to marketing and business development areas.
  • People Management - provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments, including tendering, resourcing, office management and HR, and foster cooperation across departments to align operational objectives with organisational goals and priorities.
  • Drive strategic developments such as the development of company metrics/KPIs, and building robust pipelines.
  • Change Management - skilled in leading organisational change initiatives, including process improvements, digitisation projects, and cultural transformations.
  • Effectively manage crisis situations and handle all escalations in a timely and decisive manner.
  • Ability to work as a team player, while also having the ability to work autonomously in the role and escalate issues accordingly.
  • Regularly report to the COO on operational performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.

SUPPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring company compliance with H&S policy, HR policy and GDPR and identifying any company operations that do not align to company policy
