The Oracle Database Senior Specialist will provide technical consulting and managed services to a wide range of customers locally in Australia and New Zealand as a key member of our Database practice.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop complex Technical Architecture Solutions to meet client requirements
  • Design & build specific database environments to meet business requirements;
  • Strong advisory skills, be the authoritative source and lead customers through technical engagements;
  • Mentoring DBA team members and providing Guidance and knowledge transfer in alignment with industry best practices;
  • Assist in solving technical and performance problems;
  • Must be a strong team player and able to work closely with the other technical specialists and team members, and/or be the technical lead for a small team
  • Interacts with confidence and ease when interacting with middle- and senior-level managers;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment;
  • Strong interpersonal oral and written communication;
  • Required to be at customer site 4 days a week in Melbourne

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Excellent technical design skills across database, infrastructure and cloud
  • Strong experience in designing and migrating workloads and databases to AWS
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with implementations, upgrades, conversions and consolidation projects with Oracle databases;
  • Strong experience with Oracle database ranging from 10g through to 19c across UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms;
  • Strong command administering database security, data recovery, performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting complex issues;
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting complex database and applications integrations
  • Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements

HIGHLY DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Previous experience working in consultancy organisation would be advantageous;
  • Experience with various types of Oracle applications would be highly desirable;
  • Experience with administering Oracle databases on PaaS environments;
  • Experience with administering databases on Exadata, on-premises or private/public cloud
  • Federal Clearance

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
