Description:

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle Developer to join the Alliance Cloud cluster.
You will work in a cross-functional team, including business analysts, product managers, software engineers and test engineers where Oracle is used as a main database for a Java application.
As an Oracle Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and deploying Oracle database solutions in Production.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Oracle database development, SQL programming, and PL/SQL scripting.
Database Administration experience is highly desirable but not the main focus of the role.
The candidate should be very familiar with developing and releasing in an Agile environment.
Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and understand impact of Oracle database patches and upgrades on the projects databases and act as Oracle subject matter expert.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and software engineers to analyse user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data efficiently. Write and debug PL/SQL scripts and stored procedures for data transformation and business logic implementation.
  • Perform database performance tuning and optimization to ensure efficient query execution and data retrieval in a distributed architecture.
  • Ensure data integrity and security by implementing proper data validation and access controls.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of Oracle applications to identify and resolve defects.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with database administrators to monitor and maintain the health and performance of Oracle databases.
  • Prepare, test, present for review and execute changes in Production (requires physical presence in the office at least 2 days/week).
  • Stay up to date with the latest Oracle technologies, tools, and trends to suggest improvements and drive innovation in database development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as an Oracle Developer or similar role, with a strong understanding of Oracle database concepts, architecture, and data modelling.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming and database design principles is a must have.
  • Strong experience in PL/SQL scripting and stored procedure development is a must have
  • Experience with Oracle security like Database Vault and data encryption is a must.
  • Experience with Oracle Partitioning feature is a must have.
  • Familiar with Java related development and ability to work with Java developers is a must have.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning tools & techniques to optimize database queries and operations e.g. Explain Plan, Autotrace, AWR
  • Familiarity with Oracle tools and technologies, such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Developer, DataPump, Oracle Text.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, across all levels and transversally.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are desirable but not required.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Openshift and Python is a plus.
  • Experience in Agile way of working is an asset.
