ABOUT US
Corrections Victoria’s purpose is to deliver an effective corrections system for a safe community. Community Correctional Services (CCS), is overseen by Corrections Victoria, a division of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. CCS is responsible for the management and supervision of prisoners on parole, clients under post sentence supervision and court orders.
CCS is currently experiencing rapid growth in the offender population. In response to this, Corrections Victoria will embed evidence based practice across all areas of our work and target responses to the areas that will allow the greatest impacts to be made. This approach will contribute to a safer community and strengthen CCS for the future.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Parole Officer based in Werribee or Sunshine, you will deliver quality case management to a complex caseload of the highest priority, violent prisoners on parole. You will work autonomously and ensure that the management of prisoners under your supervision are case managed in line with the Corrections Victoria Offender Management Framework.
You will contribute to a strengthened and integrated risk assessment and management framework, including the transition process from imprisonment into the community. Building close partnership with internal and external stakeholders, you will have an overarching focus on community safety.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:
- well-developed engagement and case management skills
- the ability to prepare high quality reports
- experience in the application of best practice case management of complex and high risk clients
- knowledge and experience in best practice risk and therapeutic initiatives.
Experience working within a legislative frameworkis also desirable.
