Senior Pastor Profile
What you will be doing (essential duties)
- Preach God’s Word and provide spiritual leadership for the congregation.
- Lead the productive implementation of all church ministries, while also overseeing the pastoral
and administrative positions.
- Actively support the development of pastoral and lay staff, enabling them to effectively
perform their important leadership roles.
- Promote a spirit of unity of purpose as we seek to fulfil the Great Commission.
- Nurture personal relationships with members and provide counselling as needed.
- Lead, support and participate in IBC mission projects and/or activities.
- Oversee the development and implementation of an annual IBC ministry plan
- which includes the budget requirements of all ministries and operations of the Church.
- A typical week might be 15-20 hours preparing for sermons, 10-12 hours on staff matters, 12-15 hours on shepherding.
What qualifications and experience you bring
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or university and a seminary Master’s
degree.
- 5 years’ experience as a Senior Pastor.

- Passion and a gift for explaining the Word.
- Build relationships and pastor a diverse congregation.
- Alongside the Board of Elders, take ownership of IBC’s vision and lead the staff and
congregation to pursue it.
