As a senior pensions officer you will be responsible for all aspects of day to day pension administration and will support in enhancing our services and supporting your colleagues in order to provide high quality services. Experience with NHS Pension and Local Government Pension Schemes is key

As a senior member of the ELFS pension team, you will manage a designed workload working in collaboration with the pension teams to ensure the delivery of the organisation’s contractual commitments to promised quality/timescales and in line with professional standards, national policy and frameworks for Pensions services.
Strong communication and organisational skills alongside strong knowledge of Pension legislation preferably within an NHS or local government setting are key to this role.

Our payroll services are successfully delivered to over 100,000 NHS employees across 13 large NHS Trust/ICBs throughout the country every month, including weekly payrolls, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

Established in 2002, ELFS is a proven NHS owned Shared Service solution providing Financial and Payroll services to thirty-four NHS organisations and one CIC throughout the country from its Head Office based in Darwen, Lancashire with a satellite unit based at St James House in Salford.
Our payroll department provides a comprehensive Payroll, Pensions, Expenses and Service desk to our clients. The post is based at our Head Office in Darwen, Lancashire, just off junction 4 of the M65. We operate hybrid working giving you the flexibility to work from home as well as in the office.
You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive pensions service to employees and Senior Managers at ELFS Client Trust Organisations. Operating in line with Client Organisation Standing Financial Instructions, NHS Pensions Regulations, Agenda for Change and Medical & Dental Terms and Conditions of Service, the post holder will work collaboratively with clients and colleagues to deliver the contract.
You will have specialised knowledge of NHS Pensions, Payroll and Statutory Legislation and be responsible for providing advice to Client managers and their employees on all aspects of the Pension Scheme ensuring all requests are completed in line with NHS Pensions and Service Level Agreement timelines.
Working in conjunction with the Pensions Manager/Assistant Pension Manager to coordinate and plan work activities for the wider team whilst working to specified timetables. You will use initiative to resolve complex issues, escalating where necessary, to ensure all requests are handled efficiently and effectively and that the Trust Client Organisations are compliant with Scheme Regulations whilst maintaining integrity at all times
