Senior Perception Software Engineer
General Summary
The Senior Perception Software Engineer will work on a variety of projects related to increasing the
spatial and situational awareness of our industrial autonomous vehicles and report directly to Director of
Perception. Primary Responsibilities
Work on a variety of projects related to increasing the spatial and situational
awareness of Seegrid’s industrial automomous vehicles and report directly to
Director of Perception;
Gain familiarity with Seegrid’s robotic product software architecture and develop
plans for software design and implementation of products;
Responsible for writing and maintaining production-grade, C++, perception mode that
will run in the real-time control loops of Seegrid’s industrial autonomous vehicles.
The focus will be algorithm design and validating algorithms robustness for real-world
deployment;
Research, design, develop, maintain and extend perception algorithms that will run in
production on Seegrid’s vehicles. Subsystems may include: localization, mapping,
state estimation, obstacle detection and avoidance, object detection and localization,
semantic segmentation, classification, and tracking;
Guide the development of algorithm design from prototype to production including
training on large scale data sets and curating (to ground truth) backtesting data sets
to be integrated with Seegrid’s automatic test infrastructure for the production
software stack;
Develop executable implementations of algorithms in C++ or Python, and provide
clear documentation on their usage and performance characteristics;
Provide elevated levels of support to assist with perception-related field issues.
The applicant is allowed to work remotely 100% from any U.S. state.
Salary: $160,000 - 180,000 per year

Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, or Computer Science.
5 years’ progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered,
or any Robotics or Computer Science related occupation, to include:
o Experience using linear algebra, probability, optimization, and model-based
geometric algorithms skills to develop robust perception algorithms;
o Experience with SLAM, computer vision, machine learning/deep learning,
localization;
o Experience working with applicable sensor systems to include 2D/3D LiDAR,
monocular and stereo cameras, inertial sensors, etc.
