About the Role

Responsible for the provision of a broad range of clinical Pharmacy services to the facilities within Metro South Health through Logan - Beaudesert Health Pharmacy Services with a primary base at Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital.

  • Exercise independent clinical judgement in providing accurate patient medication history interviews upon admission, clinical medication reviews, and formulation of pharmaceutical care plans utilising high-level knowledge and clinical skills, including the provision of advice to medical, nursing, pharmacy staff and other health care.
  • Provide advice and assistance as required to subordinate staff and line management regarding the management of clinical work practices, distribution, dispensing, production and quality assurance (including supporting Antimicrobial Stewardship) as it relates to pharmaceutical services in their area of responsibility.
  • Apply a high-level of pharmacy knowledge, skills, experience and provide clinical leadership within the team including clinical practice supervision.
  • Undertake components of research and education both to multidisciplinary teams and to pharmacy staff whilst identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining medication safety systems within the allocated area of work.
  • Assume as required, a role as designated clinical educator to medical and nursing staff, pharmacy assistants, pharmacists, intern pharmacists and students (undergraduate and post graduate) for clinical pharmacy services to enhance patient.
