Description:

Wood are recruiting for a Senior Pipeline Designer to join their outstanding team in Reading or Staines. You will be working on some of the boldest projects in the Industry at the cutting edge of energy transition and security across all sectors

  • Prepare FEED and detailed engineering drawings of onshore and offshore flowlines, trunk lines and pipelines
  • Read, review and apply Site Topographical, Underground and Geotechnical Survey drawings and data
  • Develop overall routing maps and layouts, plot plans, pipeline alignment sheets, LUP (Land Used Permission), plants and scraper stations approach drawings, pipeline ROW sections and details and pipeline trench sections and details
  • Develop typical drawings for scraper launchers and receivers, line valve stations, tie-in sections and details, cathodic protection
  • Develop typical crossing drawings for highways, asphalt roads, railways, wadis, third party pipelines, cables and overhead lines
  • Develop detailed drawings for crossings with trenchless technologies
  • Review pipeline drawings, plot plans, alignment sheets, piping layouts and vendor drawings
  • Familiar with pipeline detail engineering standards, including spacing requirements, accessibility, operation, maintenance, crossings and right of way (ROW)
  • Familiar with the relevant International Standards, and able to learn and understand client’s standards and specifications
  • Carry out study and design work using Wood and client design methods, standards and data, to a high quality and in accordance with project requirements
  • Ensure that Wood and Client’s Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are complied
  • Provide assistance to other disciplines and participate in review meetings (if requested), in accordance with project requirements
  • Support internal development and continuous improvement activities as required
  • Training & mentoring of junior members of staff.
  • BTEC Higher National Certificate or a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Engineering
  • 10+ years of onshore pipelines experience preferably in the Middle East and the UK
  • Experience with another international design firm required (previous experience with Amec Foster Wheeler advantageous)
  • Preferred experience in an onshore pipeline environment within the Upstream and Midstream Industry, including Middle East experience
  • Able to work in FEED environment as well as in detailed design
  • Proved experience in Microstation and AutoCAD is required
  • GIS experience is preferable
  • Knowledge and experience in Google Earth Pro Maps preparation is required
  • Familiar with the relevant International standards and Codes of Practice and competent in the design, specification and selection of pipeline systems to meet the requirements
  • A fluent communicator
  • An individual with strong drive and vision
