Description:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Piping Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry to support our Tullow Project in the Glasgow office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSc, BEng or equivalent professional qualification or HND or equivalent with extensive relevant experience in a similar role

Responsibilities:
- Ability to provide guidance and direction to project team, managing, motivating and mentoring professional engineering specialists
- Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during course of performing assignments
- Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
- Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution
- Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Monitor compliance with competence standards
- Participate in incident investigations as required
- Provide Piping Engineering Expertise
- Provide input to piping and layout studies
- Define piping requirements for technical scopes
- Prepare required calculations and documentation to enable development of deliverables used in offshore workpacks and in the supply chain
- Support the development of and / or develop requisitions for the procurement of piping related material and equipment
- Undertake checking of piping deliverables
- Provide support to the Lead Piping Engineer and the project delivery team
- Resolve piping related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards
- Adhere to procedures to assure technical integrity of piping designs
- Provide support for inter-discipline considerations through attendance at required design reviews and undertaking inter discipline checking
- Provide feedback on lessons learnt to aide in continuous improvement
- Utilise software tools in design development and checking (eg Navisworks, E3D)
