RPS has an outstanding opportunity available for an experienced Senior Planner to join our Planning team on a permanent full-time basis, based in Cairns.

With a diverse range of clients, across a range of sectors and geographies, your working day will be varied in terms of the type of projects you are working on and the people you are working with.
This role is client facing with the opportunity to be the client liaison, and deal directly with other project team members, government and other key stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to mentor and work with more junior team members.
You will be part of our national Place and Environment Team, a multi-disciplinary team which includes town planning, landscape architecture, survey/mapping and urban design. You’ll also have the opportunity to engage with our advisory and project management teams. We provide all staff with flexible working arrangements.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing the development potential of sites and providing due diligence advice;
- Preparing development applications for a wide variety of development types and locations;
- Liaising with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities regarding development and planning issues;
- Assisting with other allied planning services including: strategic advice, policy review and allied approvals; and
- Assisting clients to implement approval outcomes.
