As an expert project planner, you are brilliant at handling continuously changing project requirements and are intimately familiar with software like Primavera P6 and MS projects.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience project planning/control within the renewable energy industry
• Extensive knowledge of South African construction laws and regulations
• Proven track record of successfully developing and executing renewable energy or large-infrastructure project plans

• Expert in use of project planning software; Primavera P6 & MS Projects
• Strong leadership abilities

• Strong negotiation ability
• Effective and efficient management of deadlines

This role requires developing comprehensive project plans, encompassing scope, timelines, and resource needs. As a leader, you would manage planning teams, providing guidance, and ensure effective communication of plans, updates, and changes to stakeholders. Your strategic analysis skills would be crucial for assessing project requirements and potential challenges.
You would need to adapt plans based on evolving project requirements, identify, and mitigate risks, and demonstrate technical proficiency in project management tools. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to aligning plans with project goals, managing budgets, and resolving conflicts.
Continuous improvement in planning processes is encouraged to drive efficiency, and negotiation skills are necessary for decisions impacting project outcomes. Strategic alignment with organizational goals is essential, as is providing regular reports on project status and deviations. Optimising resource allocation, liaising with clients, conducting delay analysis, and maintaining accurate documentation are also crucial aspects of the role.
