SENIOR PLANNING OFFICER

Job description

SENIOR PLANNING OFFICER, 37 HOURS PER WEEK

Salary Grade 8 - £36,648 to £40,221 per annum
We are looking for an organised individual to provide appropriate advice on all Development Management matters including the provision of appropriate pre-application advice and the effective and efficient determination of all levels of planning applications to create sustainable place making.
Bassetlaw is an attractive place to live and work. It includes the most northerly district of Nottinghamshire; bordering Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with two main population centres - Retford and Worksop, each surrounded by a network of picturesque villages. All of our three offices in Worksop, Retford and Carlton Forest are easily accessible from the M1 and A1.
We are ambitious, creative and innovative. Our vision is to deliver a dynamic district where people want to live, work and prosper and to work in partnership with others to develop a better quality of life for all. We are committed to recruiting a great and talented workforce, creating opportunities for undertaking high profile and varied work and training as well as continuing with the highly flexible working arrangements, which includes continuing to utilise the benefits of home working.
We will value your contributions, give you access to a free healthcare cash plan and benefits, offer a very generous 26-32 days holiday package (rising incrementally each year and exclusive of public bank holidays) and give you the option to purchase additional annual leave tax-free. We will double your monthly pension contributions and provide the option to join our shared cost AVC scheme, offer discounted car parking of around £4 per month, and family friendly policies. All new employees will be able to choose a welcome gift from the following options; 4 months free BPL gym membership, 1 year National Trust membership and many more options. We also offer hybrid working arrangements of partial home/office working.
To apply please visit www.bassetlaw.gov.uk/jobs-and-careers/ where you can upload your current CV and a covering letter or supporting statement. Please ensure you detail your experience, qualification, skills, achievements and/or abilities that are relevant for the role that you are applying for.
