Our Cloud and Platform Engineering role is diverse, challenging and dynamic. If you are looking to broaden your experience and raise your profile, this role is for you. Not only will you be working with all three major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP and Azure) but also other key Open Source technologies such as Kafka and Kubernetes. Working closely with development teams, you will be implementing best practices around continuous deployment and scalable infrastructure. As part of a team, you will have the opportunity to work with major software, services and client organisations - across multiple industries.

REQUIREMENTS

What we’re looking for:

• Client facing Cloud & Platform advocate: You will be comfortable advising and guiding clients, confident in your ability to deliver as a Cloud and Platform Engineering Consultant. Skilled working with core solutions and offerings of at least one of the major public cloud providers (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Distributed Systems Experience: You have played a primary role in architecting and developing complex distributed architectures. You understand and can reason about core distributed computing principles and theory, and can recognise patterns and approaches taken by different technologies and tools in this space.
• Continuous Delivery Experience: You know all the pieces of the puzzle that fit together to make a secure, repeatable and scalable continuous delivery pipeline. Everything from secrets management to observability, you’ve got a go-to toolchain that you have proven to work all the way through to production.
• Pragmatic & Versatile Architecture Skills: You’re someone who is equally happy coding, whiteboarding and articulating approaches & solutions with clients, or leading a team. You understand core cloud principles and what they can offer, yet always seek to blend and balance real world considerations with pure theoretical ones when architecting solutions. You will look to bring DevOps, Infrastructure-As-Code (IAC), automation and a 12-factor mindset to the table.
• A Problem Solver with a Can Do Attitude: You can be relied on as the person who gets stuck in and makes things happen. You are adept at facilitating, asking probing and challenging questions and being able to uncover the true root of problems / issues which arise.
• Innovation & Continuous Learning: You enjoy and actively seek to learn about new technologies and techniques in tech space. You are an advocate for promoting and incorporating best practices around automation, testing and building resilience into the broader delivery process.

You already have solid experience of…

• Designing secure, resilient and scalable cloud architectures on any of the major cloud platforms
• Platform Engineering Skills: You know your DevOps from your GitOps. You understand the principles underlying the creation of a platform for sustainable, repeatable, resilient continuous delivery.
• Cost attribution and organising an estate so that the maintenance and rollout is scalable and manageable using the appropriate tooling
• At this time, we’re looking for specific experience of administrating and provisioning Grafana Loki, and/or the LGTM stack or similar
• Infrastructure automation with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Observability and the associated toolchain and techniques
• Containers and container orchestrators: Kubernetes, Istio
• Preferably experienced using OpenTelemetry and tools like Honeycomb
• History of client facing or consultancy roles would be ideal, though not essential
• Ability to communicate complex ideas to peers and clients
