HE PŪKENGA TOU / SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
As a senior policy advisor, you will bring deep policy experience to lead work streams within the overall firearms law reform programme. You will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and able to hit the ground running.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be able to think analytically and critically, find complex problems interesting, and have a knack for solving them.
- Have strong relationship management skills, working to build and maintain relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, both learning from and influencing their perspectives.
- Be an excellent communicator, able to write clearly and simplify complex information, and ask questions to improve your understanding.
- Take the initiative to go beyond the immediate task, problem or issue, and apply sound judgement.
You will be experienced in:
- leading complex policy projects and reviewing and developing complex legislation
- all stages of the Parliamentary legislative process
- coaching and mentoring advisors
- designing and running consultation processes.
