This role sits within the Policy & Advocacy (P&A) team, which develops medical and health policies. The Senior P&A Officer will support the College’s Policy & Advocacy work in the development, dissemination, implementation of health policies, positions, strategies, initiatives etc that reflect the priorities of the College and our membership. This role will also develop policy responses and strategies to the policy, political and professional issues relevant to physicians and trainee physicians;
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Develop policy, advocacy and communications strategies to support College policy priorities
- Develop policies, position statements, advocacy materials on matters as required, based on input and advice from College Fellow and Trainees.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage the College membership with the policy & advocacy work of the College
- Identify opportunities for innovative and engaging advocacy initiatives, to include appropriate reporting measures on effectiveness
- Build effective relationships with key stakeholders; across the College and with external organisations
- Create and facilitate appropriate engagement with relevant stakeholders and initiatives
- Development of persuasive written materials to effectively communicate the College’s views and to advocate the College’s positions Provide advice to the Policy and Advocacy Managers, Policy Liaison & Quality Officer, and senior management as required
