Description:

  • A Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service for 12 months
  • VPS Grade 5: $106,534 - $128,897 plus superannuation.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Policy and Regulatory Strategy Officer contributes to developing policy and evolving the organisation’s regulatory practice by engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including co-regulators, government and the community. The position also maintains effective environmental scanning, provides robust analysis of external drivers and emerging issues, and provides advice on options to enhance how we regulate the liquor industry, including providing input into reviewing and developing legislation and other regulatory proposals.

SOME OF YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Providing strategic and policy advice to the LCV and Commissioners on liquor regulating issues
  • Preparing complex reports, briefings, options papers, submissions and correspondence, including Executive and Commission papers, Ministerial Briefs, Cabinet Submissions and Parliamentary/Parliamentary Committee documentation
  • Liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders, senior management, peers, and operational areas to develop strategies and formulate evidence-based policy proposals to address emerging and existing regulatory issues and support achieving the Government’s policy objectives and LCV’s Business Plan and strategic priorities.

About You:As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Proven ability to quickly understand industry and community views, operational systems, organisational roles and functions and legislative and policy developments in the liquor industry
  • Proven ability to develop, review and enhance policies, practices, and programs in complex environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in analysing evidence and data sources and advising on business improvement options.
