We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Policy Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the development and implementation of a range of policy and complex projects. They will play a crucial role in contributing to the delivery of policy and service initiatives and reforms that support organizational objectives and Government commitments.
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing NSW Government Policys and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreements to ensure quality outcomes and support to the community.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
- A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
- 5 + years of experiance working across Policy in a government capacity.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the development, review, and implementation of policies, strategies, and initiatives in alignment with organizational goals and government priorities.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform policy development and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, government agencies, and external partners to gather input, build consensus, and ensure effective policy implementation.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on policy matters to senior management, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of policies and programs, and recommend adjustments or enhancements as necessary.
- Prepare and present reports, briefings, and presentations to communicate policy proposals, progress, and outcomes.
- Stay abreast of legislative changes, emerging trends, and best practices in relevant policy areas.
- Mentor and support junior staff members, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
