POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Migration and enhancement of the reporting suite.
  • Understanding sources of data, their limitations, and common uses within the team.
  • Managing and manipulating very large and complex datasets.
  • Development and implementation of new monitoring dashboards.
  • Identifying, reporting, and analysing emerging trends.
  • Working closely with the product owners and the wider business to develop effective measures to address emerging trends.
  • Driving continuous improvement of data quality, presentation, and insight generation.Monitoring and reporting on the progress of pricing and product changes.

WHAT EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Superior problem-solving ability with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, including working with large datasets from various sources and platforms, manipulating data efficiently, and handling both structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Previous experience within General Insurance is highly advantageous.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in SAS and/or SQL.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in PowerBI, Excel, R and/or Python, and proficiency in the broader MS Office suite.
  • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform and IBM Cognos TM1 is advantageous but not essential.
  • Tertiary qualification in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, data science, or related discipline – a post-graduate degree would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Portfolio Monitoring Analyst will be responsible for migrating and improving the monitoring and analytics function within our growing Product division. This role will involve migrating processes from SAS to GCP, developing meaningful dashboards, automating the reporting suite, managing stakeholders, and providing valuable business insights.
