Group Transaction Banking is an integral part of HSBC’s retail banking and generates significant revenue for the group. We serve customers’ core needs of Everyday Banking including Liabilities and Debit Card. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Portfolio Manager

In this role you will:

  • Support Wealth & Personal Banking to deliver the Liabilities (Retail Deposits Products i.e Current, Savings, Time Deposits, Overdraft, Debit Cards & Services) objectives and goals across the Regions and Countries
  • Product and portfolio management for Retail deposits and debit cards with exposure to Balance Sheet and Liquidity management and the card networks (Visa and MasterCard)
  • Provide operational business direction on the technical, strategic and operational aspects for growing the Transactional Banking business
  • Grow revenues, balances and sales and drive transactional banking initiatives across markets, especially in the area of fees
  • Deliver world class payments journeys and capabilities to our customers across channels with a strong focus on Mobile. Improve customer experience, ensure strong cost management and identify cost efficiencies through streamlining
  • Work closely with the Group Head of Liabilities to provide Strategy & Stewardship for growing Deposits profitably, developing our debit card strategy and building Global strategic capabilities and transforming Global Retail Platforms for driving growth across all Regions and Countries and with Product Development team
  • Act as Senior Product Owner to lead the delivery of debit cards and liabilities strategy and capabilities and lead ongoing product development and deploy globally if applicable.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong product management skills focused on transaction banking. Cards and liquidity management experience is essential and wider payments product experience would be a strong positive.
  • Proven experience in senior stakeholder management in a complex organization structure
  • Strong technical knowledge of Retail Banking products – especially debit cards and liquidity - and market/industry review for strategy formulation
  • Strong analytical background and proven ability in analytical rigor, including being able to contextualize data into business activities and decisions. Proven experience in the digital and contact centre servicing areas
  • Strong customer centricity and proven track record of building successful customer centric solutions and delivering positive customer outcomes
  • Experience of operating with multi geography teams and differing cultures
  • Strong knowledge of mobile servicing and customer experience management – functionally, operationally and financially – in particular in a digital context
