Description:
JOIN US ON THE JOURNEY TO NET ZERO
National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) is at the heart of energy in the UK. The electricity that our network provides gets the nation to work, powers schools and brings energy to life. Our network connects the nation, so it’s essential that it’s continually evolving, advancing, and improving. In NGET we are passionate about both operating safely and providing highly reliable quality of supply for our customers.
As Senior Power System Engineer you’ll lead the design of the electricity transmission system, ensuring optimum system design issues on NGET’s transmission network. Working closely with customers, supporting compliance assessments to ensure that they can connect to the transmission network.
You’ll be involved in new technologies (i.e. HVDC and FACTS) discussions and specifications including innovation projects related to renewables and new technologies.
To do this, you’ll be involved in a range of power system modelling and system studies such as load flow, fault level, harmonic analysis, EMT analysis and/or control interaction studies to ensure compliance with relevant standards. You’ll maintain the integrity and safety of the network for all infrastructure and connection developments in the fields of power system design.
We have vacancies across 5 different teams and in all roles you’ll demonstrate a good knowledge of power system fundamentals and good knowledge of power system studies. You will have a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in power system engineering or a related field, as well as considerable work experience.
These roles are based out of our offices in Warwick and can be combined with hybrid working from home.
