ABOUT THE ROLE
DNV Power Systems Advisory group has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Generation Interconnection (GI) Engineer, in the Renewables & Power Grids group. Our team provides creative, cost effective and practical solutions to stakeholders in the power generation, transmission, and distribution systems. The GI Engineer must demonstrate vision and drive and be passionate about contributing to the growth and evolution of the Power Systems Advisory business in North America. The ideal candidate will be aware of market opportunities where we can differentiate and innovate, and they will manage commercial projects, delivering technical insight and delighting customers with excellent customer service.
This position will ideally be based in our Dallas (TX), Houston (TX), Medford (MA), New York (NY), Oak Brook (IL), Oakland (CA), Portland (OR), San Diego (CA), Seattle (WA), offices. However, other office locations or working remotely may be considered.
WHAT YOULL DO:
- Perform steady state, dynamic, short-circuit and/or PSCAD model development for renewable and conventional generation resources including Solar, Storage, Wind and Gas turbines
- Perform model benchmarking analysis and system wide power flow analysis including steady-state, dynamic stability and short-circuit analysis
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for area(s) related to grid reliability and/or energy markets
- Serve as a Project Manager for small to medium projects
- Actively attend (in person/remote) industry stakeholder meetings and stay up to date with assigned market changes in terms of developments and policy changes
- Contribute to the teams research and innovation activities in terms of development of new techniques and/or analytical tools to further the teams performance in terms of efficiency and/or capability improvements
- Cultivate new customer relationships, and assist in preparing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP) and provide Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for new tenders/bids/opportunities
