Description:
We are looking for a psychologist to join our Assertive Outreach Team in Brighton and Hove. We are looking for someone who thrives on working creatively with clients diagnosed with psychosis who find it hard to engage with traditional services. We are a friendly and committed multi-disciplinary team who are passionate about working with our client group. We are looking for someone who is motivated to work flexibly to ensure our service users have access to gold-standard services and interventions. Some understanding of the Assertive Outreach Model (Program of Assertive Community treatment) is required to successfully deliver interventions and facilitate leadership within the team and fidelity to the model of Assertive Outreach. You will also enjoy working closely alongside multi-disciplinary colleagues to support the psychological culture in the service and help others to deliver psychologically informed interventions.
We are willing to consider someone for either a band 8a or 8b post, depending on their level of experience. The 8a post would be for 30 hours, or 22.5 hours for an 8b post.
You will provide specialist evidence-based psychological interventions for service-users, their families or carers and consultation and supervision to other professionals and psychological practitioners in the service. You will work closely with colleagues from SPFT’s Research and Development department to bring new models and approaches to the service. You will have access to supervision and support from an experienced Clinical Psychologist with expertise in working with psychosis and will be supported to access CPD. Some of the interventions you provide will need to be provided in a more flexible fashion than within other teams which may involve travelling to service users in community settings for instance.
Sussex Partnership provides mental health and learning disability care for all age groups across Sussex and for children and young people in Hampshire.
You will be joining a friendly community of psychologists and psychological therapists who bring a rich and diverse range of skills and experience. You will receive regular clinical and professional supervision from expert colleagues as well as a commitment to your own continuing professional development. We are committed to the promotion of excellent professional standards by embedding professional practice within the Trust clinical governance structures. Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust promotes high quality clinical research, and our links with the R&D department are valued and strong.
In order to be a successful Senior Practitioner Psychologist in our team you will:
