Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Principal - Construction Management and Delivery to help plan and manage multi-disciplinary environmental and remediation-focused civil construction practice in Northern California, at our Oakland, Walnut Creek, Davis, or Sacramento offices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec’s culture. You should expect to work closely with experienced professionals who will help integrate you into Geosyntec’s culture as you advance to this next stage of your career. Some of the task-level or project management responsibilities you will be asked to do include:
- Develop and implement a personal business plan supporting Geosyntec’s “Sell, Manage, Do” philosophy consistent with the goals of the position;
- Business development; including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan;
- Collaborate with colleagues nationally to identify and capture projects meeting the strategic vision of the company and practice, typically focused on enviro-civil construction projects;
- Provide technical support, project management, and leadership, including planning, and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
- Direct Construction Management at risk projects to a successful outcome through coordination with Clients, Project Managers, field personnel and other project stakeholders;
- Have a thorough understanding of general civil construction processes and apply them to project specific scopes of work framed in environmentally focused civil projects, including heavy equipment operations, decommissioning and demolition, soil excavation and management, piping system installation, concrete, electrical and mechanical systems installation, stormwater management, and various remediation technologies; and
- Implement and abide by the policies and procedures outlined in the site-specific project health and safety plans (HASP) and the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Education and Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred), geology, construction management, environmental science, or related field. (required)
- Advanced degree the same. (preferred)
- Professional registration. (i.e., PE or PG) (required)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 15 years of direct consulting and construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Prior experience managing large multi-task, environmentally focused civil or environmental remediation projects. (required).
- Technical understanding of project management, construction management, and construction quality assurance procedures for environmental remediation projects. (required).
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
- Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
- Excellent leadership skills. (required)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Regular field work and overnight travel may be required.
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.
- Minimum Salary: $156,340 / Maximum Salary: $248,470 (Davis, Sacramento)
- Minimum Salary: $163,445 / Maximum Salary: $259,765 (Oakland, Walnut Creek)
