Senior Principal Data Systems Software Application Engineer (Onsite)

JOB SUMMARY:

Raytheon is looking for a Senior Principal Data Systems Software Application Engineer to support exciting projects.

• This position is an onsite role – Pasadena, California

Not Relocation Eligible – Relocation assistance not available

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

• Programming in Python on a Linux environment.
• Agile/Scrum development processes.
• DevOps/Data Ops (Git, GitLab, JIRA, Docker, Artifactory.)
• Experience with CI/CD processes and pipelines.
• Learn new software techniques and mathematical algorithms.
• Experience in cloud-based development (e.g. AWS or Azure.)
• An active and in-scope TS/SCI U.S. security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with a team to turn prototype algorithms into delivered software products and using MATLAB.
• Mathematics or machine learning and computer vision: image processing, object detection/tracking.
• Experience with Docker containers and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Background in mathematics or machine learning and computer vision: image processing, object detection/tracking.
• Familiarity with virtual environments (Anaconda) and with Dask or similar scientific data processing pipeline.
• Experience managing software build processes with CMake in Linux environment.
• Understanding of concepts of large-volume data processing and application of standard software engineering principles, especially with respect to unit and regression testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO ANTICIPATE:

• Developing, reviewing, testing, and maintaining various tools and algorithms (written primarily in Python and MATLAB) for simulations and analyses of imaging systems.
• Working with a large system engineering and analysis team to define/provide the necessary infrastructure, processes, and software engineering discipline to enable the seamless implementation of complex end-to-end simulations and analyses.
• Assist in the ongoing software development of the Image Chain Analysis in Python (ICAP) and System for End-to-End Results (SEER).
• Assisting in the architecting/deployment of computing resources and systems in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
