Senior Fire Engineer/ Principal Fire Safety Engineer, SOCOTEC - This role can be based out of our London, Manchester or Bicester office
To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Building and Real Estate Division. SOCOTECs Fire Engineering and Safety teams provide an award-winning, flexible and forward-thinking approach, as well as a high level of technical capability, providing our clients with cost-effective and practical solutions for the full range of fire safety problems.

Were looking for a proactive, flexible and reliable Fire Safety Engineer to join our team, with experience in a similar role and who possesses a recognised fire safety engineering qualification. Working across a variety of projects both autonomously and as part of a wider team, tasks you will be required to undertake as part of your role include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop design and construction fire safety strategies
  • Prepare fire safety assessment for external walls
  • Prepare other technical engineering analysis such as CFD modelling, Structural fire engineering
  • Carry out site visits when required
  • Provide fire safety advice
  • Write fee proposal letters
  • Manage projects from inception to completion
  • Liaise with client on a daily basis
  • Provide internal and external fire safety training
  • Review and authorise work done by others
  • Mentor Graduate Engineers

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, structural, civil or a similar field)
  • Proven background in fire safety and good understanding of fire engineered solutions
  • Working towards or have achieved chartership status and full membership with the IFE (Institution of Fire Engineers)
  • At least four years experience in fire safety engineering
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
