ROLE LOCATION

The role would be based in Bristol, London or Warrington with travel required across the UK for specific
project opportunities.

THE ROLE

To support our continued organic growth, we are seeking to recruit a member of staff at Senior/Principal
Consultant grade to work as part of our team of around 35 air quality specialists based in the UK.
In particular, support is required to manage and deliver odour assessments and modelling.
The successful candidate will support a wide range of on-going projects across sectors including transport,
energy, industry and government. You will have a client-facing role with responsibility in terms of
managing project teams and project delivery. You will lead and contribute to the development of
proposals for new work and for large and complex public and private sector tenders.
You will be involved in overseeing and delivering stand-alone air quality assessments for new
developments, environmental permits, preparing chapters for Environmental Statements including those
that form part of Development Consent Order (DCO) applications and undertaking leading edge research
projects.
You will require detailed practical experience of atmospheric dispersion modelling, particularly for odour.
In addition, you should have a good understanding of ambient air quality monitoring methods for both
particulate and gaseous species, and experience reviewing and critically evaluating ambient monitoring
results. With this experience you will work with our senior team of experts to train and mentor junior staff
and help them develop their knowledge and experience in the sector.
Depending on experience, there are opportunities to support our Environmental Policy and Economics
Practice. This part of our business provides high quality policy advice, strategic insight as well as scientific,
policy and economic analysis in a range of environmental policy areas. These include air quality and
emissions and climate change. The team has established positions on a broad range of frameworks with
the European Commission and secured work with a wide range of clients including the UK Government,
the European Commission, international development banks, environmental NGOs, the UN as well as
industry trade associations and companies.
This is an exceptional opportunity at an exciting time both for our business and for environmental
consultancy. With us, you will be involved at the heart of the team and will play a key role in the delivery
of our work. You will work in a friendly, supportive environment and will be given one to one support,
mentoring, learning and development via experienced colleagues. External training will be provided
where required.
Candidates will need to be able to work on their own and as part of a team, sharing responsibility for the
management of both projects and staff.
