Description:
Our geology group in Vancouver is one of the largest in SRK North America, with a diverse cross-section of structural geologists, resource geologists, geostatisticians and mining engineers.
As a senior to principal level consultant, your general responsibilities will include mineral resource estimation, technical reporting, and due diligence project reviews. An important aspect of working for SRK is the individual growth of your consulting skills within the broader global consulting group. SRK encourages all consultants to grow their consultancy under the broader SRK umbrella. As such, the successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain client relationships.
- A degree in geology or engineering
- 8+ years of applied resource estimation experience in an exploration or operational capacity.
- Professional registration with Association of Professional Geoscientists of British Columbia (PGeo), or eligibility to obtain it.
- Strong geostatistical skills and proficiency with computerised resource estimation tools.
- Sound geological understanding of mineralized deposits with 3D geological modeling skills.
- Experience with modern implicit modelling tools will be beneficial.
- Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Knowledge and experience of conditional simulation techniques will be an asset.
- Established network within mining industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Some prior exploration, operational and / or consulting experience will be preferred.
- Dynamic and energetic, capacity to mentor junior consultants.
- Capacity to act as a Qualified Person or equivalent to satisfy requirements for National Instrument 43-101, JORC, SAMREC, etc.
This position involves working in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects both nationally and overseas; international travel may form a significant part of the role
