Description:

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
  • Experience with one or more of the following is required: Linux, Python, C++, C, Git, or Docker.
  • Experience with the Full Life Cycle Software Development process is required.

Want to shape the future of Avionics? This position is for Software Engineer on the Avionics Advanced Technology team. This group supports the Avionics Strategic Business Unit in researching, maturing, and transitioning technologies that enable advanced capabilities and operations in both commercial and military aviation spaces. The team is cross-functional and composed of systems, software, hardware, and human factors engineers with a variety of expertise. Areas of near-term focus include flight deck design and systems automation and autonomy with an emphasis on enhancing safety and operational efficiency.
As a software engineer on the team, you will be part of a highly motivated and extremely innovative team supporting the development of rapid prototypes and proof of concepts for internal and external demonstrations. This is a unique position where every day will be a little bit different with new challenges and problems to be solved. This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. relocation assistance may be available.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Rapid software development for quick turn prototypes and proof of concepts.
  • Maintaining our various labs and demonstration rigs.
  • Exploring new technologies to support our prototyping capabilities.
  • Demonstration of our prototypes and proof of concepts to internal and external audiences.
