Our client is a small to mid-cap company with both Greenfield and Brownfield gas operations. They are seeking a Process Engineer who will support the assets in delivering top performance in Production, Maintenance and Engineering delivery. This position will support the asset in maintaining compliance with external and internal requirements. This is achieved through the competent application of the Company Operations and Health and Safety Standards in the day-to-day workings of the sites and in the development and maturation of projects. We are seeking a practical “hands on” person who has worked on Brownfield sites.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Manager you will be carry out the following functions;

  • Ensure proper planning is conducted prior to commencement of maintenance work.
  • Lead and manage process engineering projects, including conceptual design, feasibility studies, detailed engineering, and implementation.
  • Conduct comprehensive process simulations, feasibility studies, and process optimization to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and review process engineering deliverables, including PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), equipment specifications, and process control philosophies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers, to ensure seamless integration of process systems.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in process engineering, and incorporate relevant advancements into project designs.
  • Assurance of Hardware Barrier integrity and associated risk management, and assurance of broader framework in support of Company Process Safety and Asset Integrity processes,
  • Conceive and assess possible development concepts and options for surface facility development, enhancement or modification,
  • Appraise and develop appropriate conceptual plans and designs for existing, restart and new facilities including wells, flowlines, multiphase pipelines, remote compression facilities, central processing facilities and remote self-standing facilities,
  • Delivering short term project and engineering execution and resourcing plans,
  • Administer Operations, Maintenance and Operations data and plant knowledge systems Administer management of change processes and engineering systems,

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Chemical Engineering (RPEQ is also desirable)
  • Minimum of 8 to10 years’ experience in Process Engineering in either Oil and Gas or Refining.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects.
  • Extensive Process Design and Modelling experience
  • Strong analytical, presentation and technical report writing skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting deadlines.
  • Commitment to Health and Safety in the workplace and the use of safe work systems.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering successful process engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., API, ASME, ISO)
  • Experience participating in HAZOP, HAZID and LOPA studies.
