Description:

Mitsubishi Low Carbon Solutions Canada, a subsidiary of Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid position out of Calgary, Alberta

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Chemical Engineering required.
  • Experience: At least 8 years of relevant experience. Commissioning experience and/or chemical plant operation experience desired.
  • Any special skills/training/certifications:
  • Valid Professional Engineer, P.Eng, license currently registered in APEGA and transferable to other Canadian provinces by comity.
  • Excellent communication skills suited to the audience; the ability to convey ideas in written form and the capability to share those ideas verbally in a clear, concise manner; ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications & comfortable using other software as required.
  • Experience with process simulation software is required (ASPEN, Proll, ProMax, etc.)
  • Ability to attend after hour calls (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.) as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of process engineering calculations and documents including design optimization and value awareness
  • Provide technical support to project and engineering team in Japan, Canada or US
  • Provide Authentication (i.e., P.Eng.) services for the work performed in Japan, Canada or US in accordance with APEGA requirements.
  • Lead technical discussions / meetings with owners and partners.
  • Perform technical assistance for commissioning, start-up, operation and maintenance.
  • Provide ongoing operational support and assistance including but not limited to documentation and development of lessons learned and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support business development needs and priorities.
  • Attend conferences, prepare / present technical information.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
