Senior Procurement Advisor – Permanent, Full time
Based in Wellington
We are looking for a Senior Procurement Advisor to join our Finance and Administration team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of a robust procurement function and services across the organisation.

The Senior Procurement Advisor will lead and partner with business owners in providing advice and support about supplier and contract management, and procurement approaches and requirements. This role will also be responsible for facilitating and/or advising the business owners on contract negotiations and vendor disputes as well as assisting the business with contract reviews in a timely and proactive manner with a focus on identifying and implementing process efficiencies, reducing costs and mitigating risks across NZQA.
Skills and experience
- Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience in procurement
- Experience in negotiating and drafting contracts and service agreements
- Strong understanding of All of Government (AoG) procurement policies and statutory obligations
- Commercial acumen and customer focused approach, and well-developed influencing skills
- Competent in Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented focus on accuracy and precision.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Self-motivated, and ability to coach and mentor others
