Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting into the ANZ Procurement Lead, the NZ Senior Procurement Buyer will be accountable for planning and executing national regional sourcing activities with the goal of achieving significant cost reductions, while maintaining & improving product quality and vendor service levels, across predominantly Direct Materials (ingredients and flavours), and some Indirect categories in NZ. The role will also require close collaboration and positive relationship-building, cross-functionally in Kerry, to deliver key strategies for sustainable growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Purchase materials/services in-line with special cost, quality and delivery targets
  • Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes, projects
  • Perform assessment activities such as monitoring market trends, competitors’ strategies and markets
  • Negotiate contracts, improve pricing and terms of purchase with suppliers and review new opportunities to make business savings
  • Track and analyse performance within each spend category and define budgetary impact on technology and/or country P&L.
  • Assist with / lead vendor selection and negotiation process for regional vendors
  • Recruit and maintain suppliers who will provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct
  • Collaborate cross-functionally in the region to implement category-sourcing initiatives
  • Perform end-to-end activities relevant to procurement of assigned Category and negotiate complex requests for materials
  • Consistently look for ways to improve and streamline processes to continuously improve and add value to the business
  • Lead and execute E-Tenders for spend categories in NZ
  • Ensure categories are contracted in line with the sourcing strategy to avoid maverick buying
  • Ensure master agreements are properly codified into local contracts for the region
  • Prepare and issue purchase contracts and change notices
  • Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price and acceptability of items to specifications
  • Review and resolve vendor claim and contracts for conformance to company policy
