This is a unique role. The Senior Procurement Manager - Ingredients, is an integral member of the procurement function and makes a strong contribution to this high performing team. Our client is looking for a candidate with an entrepreneurial mindset, value-savvy shrewdness, innovation, creativity and exceptional expertise in ingredient procurement. This is an end-to-end role across the full value chain, sourcing quality ingredients at competitive price points.
This role is an opportunity to create and evolve the ingredients procurement function of a major player in the sector. Career development and growth, including international potential, are inevitable for the right candidate.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Significant experience in the procurement of a wide range of ingredients in the food industry with a diverse supplier base
  • Thorough understanding of trading and commodities pricing
  • Operate with speed and alacrity
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Procurement, Business, Agricultural)
  • Ingredients category management and strategic sourcing
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management
  • Excellent technical, strategy, leadership and influencing skills
  • Supplier Performance Management
  • Strong data and reporting
  • Strong knowledge end-to-end supply chain drivers

  • Category Management planning
  • Unlock value across the supply chain
  • Key stakeholder engagement
  • Deliver value-add projects
  • Drive innovation and transform cost structure
  • Conduct Procurement Risk Assessments
  • Conduct market assessment, local and international, current and future state
  • Define ‘go to market’ strategy
  • Drive the procurement sustainability program and operational effectiveness
  • Contract governance
  • Ongoing performance and benefit tracking
  • Waste elimination
  • Analyses of historical spend behaviour and all related data inputs
  • Drive EBIT growth in all markets
  • Monitor supply chain vulnerabilities and own, and resolve, risk
  • Know the marketplace and understand where the finished products fit into the market
