To be considered for this role we will require a proven track record in purchasing or strategic procurement where you can demonstrate your ability to achieve targets and run tactical tender processes. You will have strong relationship building skills across the business and an advantage if you have a qualification in CIPS however practical procurement experience is preferred.

  • Proven procurement experience with demonstrable successes in the achieving targets through planning and running strategic procurement processes
  • Experience in dairy, manufacturing or FMCG preferred
  • Contract drafting and negotiation experience is a key part of this role
  • Strong listening skills to enable you to identify strengths, weaknesses and alternative solutions when dealing with suppliers
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and regularly meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are on the lookout for a Procurement Specialist who may want to take the next step up in there career. You will play a key role in assisting the Category Managers and Senior Procurement Specialist to manage all aspects of the procurement category. This will help drive the success and continued innovation of the procurement team. You will provide effective advice, services, mentoring and support to key stakeholders across the business to ensure a strategic approach.
You will be analytical-minded and outcome-focused and can flex communication styles and think outside the box. If you have an ability to interpret business and customer needs combined with your ability to influence key decision-makers to ensure the success of this role.

The main responsibilities of this role include..

  • Work collaboratively with category managers and project teams and represents Procurement on assigned projects on a case-by-case basis.
  • Implement optimal stocking regimes – e. g. vendor managed, vendor stock, consignment stock, auto replenishment etc as appropriate
  • Strengthening supplier relationships, and developing and monitoring supplier evaluation measures
  • Identify strategic issues for procurement and contract management, and their relationship to other parts of the business
