ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Design Engineer to join the Ninja Advanced Development team here in our London Battersea office. What is Advanced Development at Shark Ninja? The Advanced Development teams at Shark Ninja work to define the overall product concept and develop this concept to a point that it is ready for detailed design development. This is a broad and varied space to work in, sometimes areas to explore are fairly narrow in scope, other times they are very open. We work very cross-functionally to identify, ideate, define and develop early stage product concepts into desirable, feasible and viable projects.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE EXCITING THINGS YOU’LL GET TO DO:

• Drive early-stage product development. You’ll be helping to build up a product roadmap to grow our existing Ninja Cooking categories with desirable, feasible and viable new products.
• Explore new product categories. In addition to growing our existing categories you’ll also be involved in scoping new exciting categories we believe the Ninja brand can win in.
• Ideate novel product concepts. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative environment to generate new product ideas. You’ll be expected to communicate these concepts clearly, expressing their reason to be and the benefits they provide to our customers.
• Sketch and Build. Clearly demonstrate your concepts in the fastest and simplest way to gain excitement and buy in across the business… produce sketches, models, prototypes or test rigs to an appropriate resolution for the maturity of the project. We have a wonderful workshop facility on site here in Battersea and expect our Design Engineers to be as comfortable with a bandsaw as they are a CAD license.
• Solicit cross-functional feedback from a variety of perspectives across our global sites to refine and crystalise the product definition. You’ll be expected to passionately defend ideas that you believe will delight our customers while also being open and receptive to input from the wider team.
• Develop the product. Identify and tackle the biggest, fundamental risks first to ensure the limits of the product are well understood. Develop and execute test methods that allow you to benchmark products and test prototypes methodically and repeatably.
• Use your experience and instinct to continually improve the way we work.
