As a Senior Product Manager, you will help drive crucial areas of our data management strategy for Azure Storage. Effective data management is essential for businesses to fully leverage their vast data assets, meet compliance regulations, reduce costs, and safeguard sensitive information. Azure customers also have emergent requirements to manage the lifecycle of datasets and models used across their AI workloads. Fully managed solutions for intelligent data management that use serverless infrastructure to automatically scale with your data are now an integral requirement for cloud storage. You will be responsible for understanding the challenges customers face in managing their massive data lakes with thousands of datasets. You will drive the product vision and strategy, collaborating with engineering teams to deliver innovative and impactful features and solutions.

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software developmento OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience on one or more of: hyperscale object storage; serverless infrastructure services; AI workloads.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 7+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management
  • OR software development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or IaaS services and features with hiqh quality, through the full product lifecycle from conception to GTM (go to market).
  • Effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and value propositions to both technical and business audiences.
  • Problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills, with ability to use data to drive business decisions and outcomes.
    Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • You will engage with Azure customers with some of the most complex storage deployments to understand their challenges for data management and processing. You’ll use these insights to define our strategy, develop the product roadmap, and close the product feedback loop between customers and engineering.
  • You will influence and drive business impact across the organization through customer support, market research, competitive analysis, and monitoring industry trends.
  • You will define success criteria as Objectives and key results (OKRs) for multiple feature areas. You’ll also keep the team focused on our long-term investment opportunities and engaging partners to garner support for those feature areas.
  • As an expert, you will define feature sets and product behavior in detail, and facilitate usability reviews for our experience with customers. You will collaborate with others to collect service metrics and drive data-driven decisions to improve product development.
  • You will partner with Business Planning and Finance on pricing strategy, and scale Product Marketing teams by building go-to-market and rollout plans, as well as leading the creation of customer support programs.
  • To promote your feature areas, you’ll take advantage of opportunities to promote our capabilities and present at industry events. You’ll also manage customer communities, and build trust with targeted customers across sectors.
  • You will drive a culture of quality, security, innovation and collaboration across the team.
