ABOUT YOU - EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of hardware Product Management experience is essential
  • Undergraduate Degree in a related field (engineering, product design, computer science)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Closet Organizing or similar industry with a focus on hardware
  • Strong computer skills and analytical ability
  • International business experience, particularly with supply chain in Asia
  • Experience in a small to medium sized operation with less than 100 employees

ABOUT THE ROLE - JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an action-oriented senior product manager to take ownership of our market leading product portfolio. In this role, you will launch new products and further the adoption & growth of existing products by understanding the needs of our customers and the dynamics of the market in which we choose to compete.
Through a regular cadence of data analysis to identify what’s working and what needs changing, you drive success by knowing what changes to make to reach our targets. As the product expert, you will support our sales, customer service and marketing teams to ensure we are all aligned

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the product lifecycle of the entire product portfolio using a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) approach from launch, to reiteration, and phase-out, with actions to support each stage
  • Lead the planning, communication and execution of new product launches in collaboration with engineering, supply chain, operations, marketing, and sales – including product marketing, internal & external training, packaging, pricing, and availability
  • Develop an advanced knowledge of the applications, features/benefits, and functions of all TAG products
  • Direct, control and evaluate the total product cycle including initial production, packaging, sales, product marketing, profitability, and customer use; including a mechanism for incorporating customer feedback
  • Define and manage a product roadmap for all TAG product offerings
  • Possess a technical knowledge of tariff classification and overall customs regulations, including rules of origin, valuation, trade agreements, HS tariff and import regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to identify exposure to risk within the US and Canadian Customs environment.
  • Classify items (finished products, ingredients, packaging, machinery, etc.) under the proper tariff codes and apply for official CBP rulings
  • Identify products that can benefit from CUSMA/USMCA and analyze their eligibility
  • Stay informed and be proactive regarding changes in regulations, classifications and global requirements
  • Experience with HTS classification codes, applying for rulings
  • Have an in depth understanding of the design process related to design for manufacture
  • Drive sales and operations with product data, achieve revenue targets in accordance with market potential & company goals
  • Be the point of communication for the entire company in relation to the sales cycle; what is selling, what needs support and what needs phasing out; including plans for each phase
  • Provide ongoing analysis, development and monitoring of a proactive product sales plan per category, including products not reaching full potential. Initiate actions to achieve goals.
  • Support and educate TAG Hardware’s entire team with expert knowledge of TAG Hardware’s product portfolio and resources
  • Support Supply Chain in decision making with data and expertise
  • Be the expert source for technical questions or product concerns
  • Control, direct and evaluate pricing and costing, identify price point problems and find solutions
  • Develop and coordinate customer training and education programs including product installation, care and use
  • Define a regular cadence of reporting metrics and KPI’s to evaluate product performance
