Overview:
LMI is seeking a Business Specialist, within our Policy Analysis & Operations Group, at our headquarters office in McLean, VA. This position will support NASA’s workforce experience activities for students grades K-16 with a STEM focus. This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer a career learning/workforce development internship program.
  • Engage students, educators, and faculty, with a special emphasis on recruitment to those from underrepresented and underserved groups.
  • Support student-authored and independently conceived graduate research proposals, with a focus on increasing underrepresented and underserved participation across the research disciplines.
  • Coordinate selection, placement, and management of interns, including provision of pre-arrival, enrichment, exit activities, support mentors and interns for student deliverables.
  • Integrate best practices and innovative approaches to streamline internship program and implementation plan.
  • Coordinate all logistics for student orientation, enrichment activities, and poster sessions.
  • Collaborate with government leads in all aspects of project management including strategic planning, data gathering, analysis, development, communication, status tracking, implementation, documentation, monitoring, and follow-up.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow business specialists to address related tasks effectively.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and review official presentations, information and action memos, concept papers, official responses to public correspondence, and articles.
  • Support activities, meetings, and projects with the development of meeting agendas, meeting minutes, management plans, and execution strategies.
  • Perform special projects as requested.
