Description:

We are seeking a Senior Programme Manager to join the Oxford Robotics Institute at the University of Oxford’s Engineering Science Department on a fixed term contract initially to the 31st January 2026.
You will be responsible for funding applications and research project management for the institute’s research projects. You will need to develop strong relationships with a variety of key stakeholders including academic leaders, other university staff and external funding partners (both UK and international). The current portfolio consists of 25 active grants from around 10 external funders includes projects funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Innovate UK, European Research Council, Royal Society and industry.
You will assume responsibility for the financial and operational management of ORI projects working with the Institute Administrator and line managing the ORI project manager (1FTE).
You should be educated to degree level with experience of administration or project management in a research environment, public sector environment or other large complex organization. You should have proven financial aptitude with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to produce clear and concise financial/research reports. Evidence of problem solving and negotiating skills is also essential.
