Angus Reid is looking for a Senior Programmer to join our Research Operations team on a full-time basis. You will have the opportunity to learn from a team of experts and influence our future growth. You will actively play a supporting role working closely with our Technical Lead, Operations team members, and Research Consultants across Angus Reid to perform programming and quality assurance tasks, optimize processes and operations workflows, and use technology in a way that aligns with business goals and security requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Survey programming and project management support in a variety of Angus Reid client engagements that enables speed and efficiency to be maximized for high client satisfaction
  • Perform quality assurance checks, test and program surveys, and export data files with a high degree of quality and accuracy using Angus Reid Forum’s software platforms
  • Proactively identify and solve survey programming related problems and propose creative solutions to ensure accurate and timely delivery of data which will improve workflow, efficiency, and communication within the organization
  • Develop documentation for training and growing our internal knowledge base that serves as a central resource for all staff
  • Lead the implementation of new technology solutions and process enhancements where necessary that improve business operations, and increase productivity and efficiency
  • Readily work on new initiatives and a variety of different market research projects in a supporting role
  • You thrive and enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you move quickly between different projects and learn new technology
  • You possess strong communications skills, are proactive, solution-oriented, good at managing time and meeting deadlines, and enjoy collaborating with local and remote team members

This may be the right opportunity for you if you have:

  • University Degree in a relevant discipline (data science, research methods, business, computer science, etc.). or College Diploma (or equivalent) in any IT-related discipline
  • Strong analytical, communication, and logic skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a keen eye for detail
  • 3+ years previous survey programming or market research experience
  • Understanding of Research Methodology, such as Collection methods (CAWI, CAPI, CATI), sampling methods, survey best practice
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming preferred (C++, Java)
  • Knowledge and experience in these computer skills: JavaScript / jQuery - a demonstrated knowledge of data structures (i.e Arrays), understanding of conditions (i.e. if, else if, else), iterations (i.e. loops) and selectors.
  • HTML / CSS - demonstrated ability to use tables, frames, DIV’s, etc. effectively for placement of content, and content layout consistently across all modern browsers.
  • Knowledge and experience working with SQL Databases
